Closer to home, I found a couple killdeer up behind Giant Springs this morning.

He was puffing himself up trying to distract me from the chicks (I wasn’t near the nest) while I was changing my lens, then he never did it again…

Then he flew off across the pond.

Pretty good camoflauge!

While he never puffed up again so I could photograph it, he did do the head-bob thing…

Still trying to distract me, he ran off the other side of the road.

I say he, but there was a pair of them trying to distract me.
