Day 55: Jerome, AZ

One day on our adventure to Sedona, we went up to an old mining town named Jerome.   This is the street with parking…at the bottom of the hill/town!  There is a neat rock shop in the basement of the place on the right.

This is the foundation of an old building, long abandoned.  All that is left is the walls, and fences to keep people out.

If you look through the fences you see the basement!  Jerome is on a hill, after all.  Upstairs was a bank at one time, but over the years I think there have been many different businesses in here.

This is the upper part of the stairway to lunch.  I am standing over the Police Department.  I might have known there was an alterior motive to this trip…there is a bead and yarn shop just to the left side of the photo.

Looking back from the top of the stairs, we see Sedona.  Somewhere out there in the red rocks…

Our goal was this place, the Haunted Hamburger!

A closer view of the sign:

Here is a nice shot back at Sedona through the window of the Haunted Hamburger.

The food was pretty good!  We started off with fried pickles with a light Wasabi dip…

Here is Friend Robyn taking a food blog photo of her Reuben (I think she had a Ruben that day…).  I am not sure…

Poor Walter.  He never gets to just eat anymore!

Here is nice close up of his Philly Cheesesteak with a baked potato.  I just don’t know about these people who have to photograph all of their food.

Here is my Chili Burger and baked potato, by the way…!

And of course, dessert!  Here is Robyn’s Strawberry Cheesecake.

 The Dailylife Wife’s Carrot Cake.

And my very, very, Chocolate Cake!

Poor Walter didn’t get anything!

Then it was outside and walking back down to the car.  I guess that is why we parked at the bottom.  We’d have never made it back up after that great meal!

Here is a nice Fire Department.

And that was our trip to Jerome. We went on over the hill and into Prescott, and that side trip only cost us a few thousand…never go to Best Buy if they have good returned stuff on sale!

Anyway, I know Robyn and Walter sure like Jerome and the Haunted Hamburger.  They have been there several times, and Robyn REALLY doesn’t like the road up, or the stairs in town!  So you know with a name like Haunted Hamburger, it has to be good.
