We went out to Kīlauea Point National Wildlife Refuge (Wikipedia) run by the US Fish and Wildlife Service .  Lots of birds and fun there!

The Dailylife Daughter #2’s roommate likes to identify birds, so here is her chance to name a few!

A little tiny red bird.

The light wasn’t too good, for birds or seascape.  Here is a little blue sky for the fellow above.

Here are some of the waves breaking.  The cliff there is three to five stories high.

Here is the Lighthouse.  No need to identify this one: That’s my Bird!

(Roommate says: thats the lovely montana bird far away from her normal habitat but obviously enjoying the warmth and sun.) 

This bird is about to leave Kaua’i after a mating season.  It leaves at the same time the albatrosses come back.  They nest in burrows, then kick the fledglings out.

This is a young one, trying to figure out how to flight.  It has a couple of days…

This bird popped up out of the top of a bush.  I took me a few seconds to realize what it is!

Also known as a…chicken.  I said they are everywhere here!

Well done, Roomy!  I think you got them all right!
