We went out to Kīlauea Point National Wildlife Refuge (Wikipedia) run by the US Fish and Wildlife Service .  Lots of birds and fun there!

The light wasn’t too good, for birds or seascape. Â Here is a little blue sky for the fellow above.

This bird is about to leave Kaua’i after a mating season. Â It leaves at the same time the albatrosses come back. Â They nest in burrows, then kick the fledglings out.

This bird popped up out of the top of a bush. Â I took me a few seconds to realize what it is!

Also known as a…chicken.  I said they are everywhere here!
