The Dailylife Wife had a conference to go to in Chico Hot Springs. Â I took advantage of that to spend a day in Yellowstone National Park. Â This is the guy that welcomed me to the Park.

I headed East into the Lamar Valley, often said to be where most of the best wildlife viewing is. Â And it was the recommendation of the ranger on the gate…

At Slough Creek I joined a couple of wildlife watchers observing this bear. Â It took me a while to find it, because it was really a little black dot a mile or more away across the valley. Â It was a large Grizzly! Â This is only a little cropped on my 400mm lens.

I went up the road a bit farther; it was closed about 1/2 mile from the pavement. Â I got a much better photo braced on my car door than using the tripod. Â I think there were less heat waves (is: disturbed air) to shoot through from this point. Â It was only marginally closer to the bear. Â Then he walked off up the mountain.
