This is a variation on an old technique called Day-for-Night. In old movies (and some not so old) when there is a night scene and it looks like a very bright moon and everything is pretty much visible, except in really dark shadows, that is Day-for-Night. It is shot in the daytime, usually with a dark blue filter to make it look like it is night. Here I tried to blue things up and make it look somewhat like a night shot. It was taken at 4:22 pm, full daylight in Great Falls.
