Cortez, CO, to Natural Bridges National Monument, UT; Part 1 of Day 5:
The day started early, and I was packed, out of the Tipi and on my way through Cortez before 5am. It looked OK the way I was going, that is North West on US HWY 491 towards Monticello, UT. I was running between two pretty good sized thunder storms, with a bit of lightening on both sides, but all I got was a little rain. At Monticello I turned South on US HWY 191, then East on UT HWY 95 at Blanding. Finally I reached the Natural Bridges National Monument about the time the sun came up.

It was just as the staff was parking…but too early to show my Park Pass, so I got in free!

The Monument has a 9 mile one lane/one way circle, with lots of pullouts and trails to view the bridges. And other photogenic stuff…
