The next morning it was cold and rainy at the SEATAC terminal…Seattle in March. Â YUCK!
(Click to enlarge; BACK to return!)
(Four photos stitched together in PS Elements 9)
There was substantial de-icing going on.
(All photos taken on an Apple iPod or a Canon Powershot SX100S)
But soon it was up into the clouds!
And then out into the sunshine!
I found a circular rainbow in the clouds…I understand this is something common to high flying airplanes.
A quick snack: mini pretzels with corn chips!
Then a good breakfast (11am PDT; 2pm HST): a breakfast burrito of egg and…something, and an orange muffin. Â It was really good, and neither of us had had anything at all to eat until this so we gobbled them down and then realized we hadn’t taken our food photo. Â So here is the food box photo!
More clouds. Â It was a five and a half hour flight: there were lots of clouds!
Some interesting clouds!
Our first sight of Hawaii!
There are old runways all over the island of Oahu, like this one!
At least, I hope it is an old runway: someone seems to have built a compound in the middle of it!
A nice view of Honolulu through the clouds.
That is the airport, or part of it, down there.
Someone’s golf course under the approach. Â I think it is still under construction.
Then we are down in Hawaii! Â And waiting for an open gate…
Not a bad flight, all in all.
More to come, because the day is not over, no matter what the blog title reads!
