Day 298/Day4 (and a few more!)

My morning office and breakfast bar! (Cellphone panorama with Yvonne DeCarlo!) It was rainy today.  We headed up to Hanalei, and looked at the views through the misty rain… It looks like a Christmas ornament…have to up our game this year… From the beach: distant mountains and the surf.  All in the rain. W headed […]

Day 297/Day 3 – Part 3

It was a quiet afternoon.  Although we are beside a main road, it isn’t too noisy. And then there are the chickens.  No one should ever go hungry on Kaua’i if they can catch a chicken!  They are everywhere.  This one is out on our Lanai.  They like to crow and cackle all night long!

Day 297/Day 3 – Part 2

Between Hanalei and Princeville there are two one lane bridges, with a severe jog between them.  “Local Custom” allows four or five vehicles from one side to go, then the rest wait while the other side goes.  It works pretty well, allthough reight now it is being controlled by road workers…  There are several more […]

Day 297/Day 3 – Part 1

We drove up to Hanalei and the end of the road.  The park there is now reservation only but there is a shuttle bus you can take from Hanalei to miss out on the fun of one lane bridges! Here is a view with a cruise ship (maybe the one we were on back in […]

Day 296/Day 2

We stopped for “Breakfast Strombolis” the next morning on the way back to Lihue.  Pretty good, and a half is huge! You eat with the birds in Hawai’i.  I had forgotten how noisy it can be, even without the roosters running free here! We headed back to Princeville after hitting Costco and Walmart for some […]

Day 295

We are off across the ocean again.  Well, half way. It was a long boring wait, and the plane was full.  They kept offering to check carry on’s through to the destination. That’s why mine is a carry on.  I don’t want it checked through.  Too much camera and computer. Once nearing Seattle you could […]

Day 294

Well, well.  The Wuhan flu has struck again…this time first hand.  It got us both.  Right before we are trying (again) to head to Hawaii, too.  Last time was they closed Hawaii a day before our trip was to begin, in March of 2020.  I hope someone isn’t trying to tell us something.  With the […]
