After the Dole Plantation we headed up to the North Shore. Â It is not to long of a drive.
(Many of these photos are the Dailylife Wife’s: it is apparently now a capital offense to remove your hands from the steering wheel for >>any<< reason on this Island!)
As we dropped down out of the pines (Pines??? In Hawai’i???) you could see the surf and some large waves.
Then comes a lot of suburban strip mall and old fashioned two lane driving, with often too much traffic. Â Eventually we found the Turtle Bay Resort, a very nice looking place!
These fearsome statues herald the Polynesian Cultural Center!
It is a large cultural tourist attraction showing all of the Pacific Island cultures and how they relate. Â There is a dinner and show if you want, too. Â This is a map of the place. Â Click on it to see it in more detail.
Lots of beautiful flowers and (manmade) waterfalls.
And a special display on Easter Island!
More to come: Fire in Samoa!
