…or other things from a small boat!
I think I mentioned somewhere that I missed a lot of good photos on Cap’t Andy’s Cruise. Â It wasn’t their fault! Â I took too much lens (my 400mm). Â When the boat is bouncing up and down two or three feet it is really hard to keep that much lens pointed at one small whale out there somewhere…I would have been far better off with my 70-300, or even my 28-135 standard zoom. Â You can blow up the center of an 18 megapixel photo pretty good, but what is the point if there is no whale there? Â A shorter lens, let alone a zoom, would have made it much easier to capture something other than ocean or sky while trying to stand on a moving teeter-toter!
Live and learn! Â And shoot more whales!!!
