Here is our first glimpse of Mendenhall Glacier.
The Dailylife Wife walks down to the shore.
Juneau is a lush place…
Off to the right about a mile is a BIG waterfall. Â Those little spots?
…People…
There are spotting scopes to view the glacier through in the Visitor’s Center.
The View.
A nice view of the glacier in the Sun.
And a few moments later, not so much Sun. Â As I recall from stopping in Juneau on our 2009 Cruise, this is the only glacier in the US of A that can be seen from a Walmart parking lot…
Fireweed.
Unknown.
Dwarf Fireweed. Â With flies.
Alas, the only real downside to these Cruise tours (other than the cost!!!) is that you are on a schedule and can’ spend all the time you’d like in some places. Â It is back to Juneau!
And then onto the Ship. Â I think we were late for our 2-hour feeding…
