Now we get back into some really impressive roadbuilding.

Just a couple thousand feet down from the top is a nice rest area.

This is where the rest area is.  The pink line is the road ahead.  A few years ago there was a mud slide that cut across three of the four switchbacks!  No through road over the Pass that year!

And off I go again!

I think right in the middle is where the mud slide started.

Here is one of the spots where the mud slide cut across the road.  There is a cover over the soil to stop a repeat.

How many loops of the road are there?  The yellow lines trace the road.

A motorcyclist’s deadly foe…x 3!

Nearing the bottom at last!  Did I mention it was a tad cool?

Even “off” the Pass it is a nice view.  See the Moon over the mountain?

A gentle ride to Red Lodge through the Custer National Forest.  Huh.  I guess they had some trees after all!

Next:  Homeward bound!
