Back on the 27th of September there was a total lunar eclipse. That is where the Moon moves through the Earth’s shadow and turns completely red! We went out to shoot the Moon with Friend Walter. These are some of my photos of the event.
This is the Moon approaching “totality”, or when it is 100% in the Earth’s shadow.
The burned out part is the part still not in shadow. Â Digital camera sensors (and most film!) just do not have the latitude to do both the high and low light parts.
But the Moon is pretty cool when it is blood red!
