Day 285

Still working on the sewing room in the trailer…getting there!

Here is the plan…but the rare earth magnets got dropped.  On the other hand I have still spend $0.00 on this remodel!

Making the basic frame for around the hot water heater.

Fitting the piece of veneer that is the removable front access panel to the hot water heater and associated wring and hoses.  This is where the magnets would have been…

Just a closeup of a corner.

Here is the frame installed, with the “back” of the storage compartment reinstalled.  It is the same veneer that came out of there.  I have made it removable with four screws.  That is where the Dailylife Wife will have legroom to do her sewing while we snowbird.  The front of the hot water heater compartment lifts out.

This is from outside the storage compartment looking in.  It needs another piece of veneer across the top.  I did not have a wide enough piece to make it just one.  Still $0.00!  Even the 2x2s and screws are recycled from the bunkbed supports.  A few screws and boards I already had on hand.  But as of now about 98% trailer sourced.

The top of the 2×2 should be at the height of the bottom of the countertop we will install.  With a little side piece above on the right, the storage will be effectively shut off from the inside of the trailer, yet I can remove the back wall when we are stopped for a time and need legroom under the counter.  Because it is for outside water hoses and electrical cords, most of the contents will be in use when the wall is removed.

I may have to trim the top of this storage wall; I pulled a lot of staples out of it and you can see the holes.
