From Kilauea Point NWR we went down to Anini Beach. They even allow camping there…with a reservation.
From there is was back to Hanalei and lunch. Despite looking “healthy” this thing (which tasted pretty good) has 36 Grams of carbs and lots of calories.
We ate at the L&L BBQ counter. This is a hamburger steak and a teriyaki slice on top of some chili, with rice and pasta salad. Pretty good!
The DLW had the seafood platter. She liked it, other than it was too much fried food.
After lunch we returned to our abode for a while, then it was back down through Hanalei for a sunset sit on the beach!
The roads are mostly newly paved with new paint. They put reflectors on both sides and a double row in the middle. Unfortunately they put the outside reflectors inside the fog lines, and the middle reflectors outside of the middle lines, so they cut almost a foot off the width of each lane. hard to miss those noisy things. Thumpathumpathumpathumpa…
The sunset was so nice that we had to turn around and go back to the Hanalei overlook. You can only get to it from one side of the road now.
And so ends a nice day on Kaua’i!
