There was a lot of noise outside this morning. The tree between the neighbors and us was finally getting cut down. Mostly.
It does look a bit strange…empty…
No word if he found my drone. It almost looks like the tree is still growing here!
The neighbor is using the wood for firewood at his cabin. I think a couple of these with a four or five foot slab would make a neat bench in front of the house.
It is a bit emotional. We have talked of cutting it down for literally 30 years. At some point a simple swing was tied onto the lowest branch. All of our kids and now grandkids have swung on it. Even kids walking by swing on it. Soon the great grandkids will too.
It has been up there so long the ropes are no longer tied around the branch! Eventually we will take out the stump that is left out too, but I want to put the branch on a frame so kids can keep on swinging.
A pretty good end for an old rope, a scrap board and a gnarly tree branch!

I was talking to my Stepmother the other day and mentioned Fall was on its way: A tree had already changed in a neighbor’s yard. She said “I don’t think I heard you right…”. She did. This was about the 23rd of August…

I went up to see gramma Sarah after the Fair. The smoke started as soon as I reach East Glacier. Fire camps outside of West Glacier and near Hungry Horse.
