Well, we’re back from a fun filled two week cruise to Alaska! Â It was a pretty good time, and as you will see, there were some incredible opportunities for photography! Â But first we have to get on the boat…
Anyone who frequents the I90 route to Seattle and Tacoma will recognize the Columbia River Gorge Bridge. Â It has been seen here before, many times. Â This is the day before our embarkation.
(I will skip the EXIF stuff on all of the snapshot photos, and include it on the really good ones!)
The Dailylife Daughter #2 and the Dailylife Wife at the Engine House n Tacoma, one of DD#2’s favorite haunts for food. Â It is pretty good…
I got the Dailylife Wife a present for the cruise: a 9mm fisheye lens for her Olympus PL-5. Â This is a sample shot I took before I gave it to her. Â There was a bit of a learning curve, but I think she enjoys it.
We had to run up I5 through Seattle from Tacoma to get to the ship the next morning.

North of Seattle we approach Pier 91, current home of the Holland America Line’s Amsterdam, our home for the next 14 days.
An almost tearful goodbye in the midst of all of our cra…luggage. Â Fortunately we only have to tote this pile a short way. Â DD#2 drove our car back to Tacoma where friends kept it safe for us for the two weeks we were gone. Â Thanks again, Lori and Mark and family!
Check in was pretty fast an efficient, if you don’t mind being a herd of cattle. Â In this case, it was a well cared for herd of cattle. Â Of course, going anywhere anymore is to be in a herd of cattle…

Up the gangway at last!
And we are off!
