I took a quick trip around the area this morning. All of the rain and snow has certainly raised the Verde River! That is where I like to shoot on the River here.
The Verde River is probably more like what it was when William A. Clark (one of the Butte Copper Kings!) founded Clarkdale. I will try to find a photo of its regular depth and post it.
Running North towards Sedona yielded a nice two photo panorama from my iPhone. Click on it to enlarge it:
Turning up a Forest Service road in the hills gives a different and closer view of some of Sedona’s charm.
There is a little boondocking campsite (No Open Fires!) called Angel Valley down that road a bit. It isn’t rough in the campsite, or at the road, but the transition between then is a pretty sharp angle. Not for my Trailer! Once is enough!
Cactus along the road.
A vertical panorama of an interesting tree.
Another iPhone panorama of the red rocks and snow near Sedona.
And lastly is the Verde Valley as I roll down the last set of hills from Sedona. Camp Verde is to the far left, Cottonwood is ahead, and Clarkdale is to the right. Jerome is above Clarkdale.
Cold and snow is in the forecast for here, so I won’t have to drive to Sedona to see it!
