I stopped along the Highline (US Highway 2 runs across the top of Montana and we call it the Highline) three times between Shelby and Browning to shoot photos of SP4449. It was nice to hear about it ahead of time for once, rather than after the fact!

There was a long line of cars, all train chasers, from as far away as at least LA. They were following SP4449 all across the country.
It started out kind of dull and cloudy.

The end of the train rarely gets the attention it deserves. I could make a fantastic living room out of this Observation Car…somehow my wife doesn’t seem to agree…
