(February, 2009) After the beach I drove around Caorle a bit. It was pretty dead, but there were a few cars and people.
This is an old medieval bank or some such.
Then it was back to the beach and more hotels…this is a couple miles from the beach in the last post, on the other side of town, and except for a short stretch it was all hotels along the beach. I think it is probably a great place in the summer.
Over the seawall on the right side of the photo above, you see this: more beach. (Click a few times to enlarge; BACK to return!)
Driving around I found Laguna Village.
Other than a couple places in town I couldn’t get a photo of, this is all that I found open.
It was next to this South Seas Island Campground for Wayward Pirates (note the snow on the lamp post globes!):
The theme carried throughout the campground. Here is one of the back of it.
And across the road was the “alley”…
All of the hotels not immediately in downtown Caorle were shuttered.
Here is the canal in the middle of town again. Pretty crowded, and surrounded on both sides by apartments and hotels. (Click a few times to enlarge; BACK to return!)
I slowly made my way out of town after this.
As city gave way to country, I was sure Bibione would be more active. After all, it had a Mall.
HA!
